“House” Ratings Through Roof In Gotham

Writer/director Tyler Perry’s new sitcom “House Of Payne” garnered an impressive 2.6 household share during its April 27-May 18 test run on New York City’s WWOR UPN channel 9.  According to Variety, the show’s initial 10 episodes registered a robust 53% gain over the sitcom “Girlfriends”- which occupied the same time slot in 2005. In key targeted demographics “House” topped “Girlfriends” by 56% in adults 25-54 and by 40% in adults 18-49.  “House” proved particularly attractive to women by showing gains of 83% over “Girlfriends” in the 25-54 bracket and 50% in women18-49.
