Stereoscopic 3D




As always LAB 601 is pioneering the way in new technologies for filmaking forging the path to Stereoscopic 3D postproduction.  The LAB has been working with 3D since 2008 with short special projects testing beta versions of AVID Media Composer that enabled 3D offline and medium level 3D finishing.  Now the LAB has begun finishing for “Human Flight 3D”, a feature film highlighting Red Bull’s elite AIRFORCE skydiving team.  LAB is using cutting edge technologies from many different bleeding edge manufacturers.  Cutting edge software also needs cutting edge hardware so LAB’s core finishing systems feature  24-core processors to handle dailies and other transcoding and 4k S3D or mono playback.  S3D is viewed on our passive and active display systems and soon to include 2K RealD projection.
